Build # 147 built July 2002. This car is the only customer ordered AUIII TL50 and is one of only 3 built.It carries the model number 18257 and is the only car to do so making it one of a kind. It is the last performance enhanced LWB sedan built by Ford Australia. It was sold by City Ford in Sydney and was not optioned. With a base price of $84500 it would have been closer to $90K with luxury tax, dealer delivery and on roads costs. Brembo 4 pot brakes as per factory option have since been added.The build # should have been 003 (being the 3rd TL to have the 5.6L factory 250kw stroker engine) but Tickford had apparently lost track of how few they had built and so was allocated a number that coincides with build numbers of TE50's and TS50's of 7/2002.

The other two cars are numbered P01 and 002 and were built Sept & Nov 2001 respectively. Those two cars are actually AUII's built as AUIII's with the 5.6L engine and carry the model # 18157. I have personally sighted the build plates of both cars to verify this. The following info is as it was told to me directly by the current owners.

P01 is owned by a Melbourne collector who bought the car at auction. It was given to V8 Supercar driver Craig Lowndes by Ford when he switched from Holden to Ford and was sent to auction after CL was given a BA GT. The TL50 was Fords flagship car at the time. It has a sunroof as factory option and is also Silhouette with black interior.

002 is owned by a north west Sydney resident and used as a daily driver. This car was ordered as floor stock by FTe dealer Brad Garlick Ford, Nth Ryde NSW , is Monsoon Blue in colour and was factory optioned with Brembo brakes, Satnav and Sunroof. It has the Aubergine colour (red) interior. The first owner returned the car to the dealer only a few weeks into ownership after having a spin in the wet. The current ownerthen bought the car when only about 1 mth old. Update 5/11. As of early 2011, 002 is no longer daily driven
